LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, Obi Toppin

  • LaMelo Ball has the shortest odds of being the No.1 Overall Pick in the 2020 NBA Draft with -140 odds.
  • The NBA Draft will be Wednesday, November 18 at 7 p.m. EST.
  • James Wiseman is listed at -115 odds to be the second pick in the NBA Draft.

NEW YORKThe 2020 NBA Draft is only one day away as teams try to find the future of their franchises with each pick.

The NBA Draft is usually during the summer but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to November. Now that the time has come, NBA bettors have to be excited as the first major betting event of the professional basketball season has arrived.

For those looking to get in on the NBA Draft betting action, online sportsbooks have odds for the exact pick of the first four selections of the draft. Although there hasn’t been much talk of a draft-day trade, that can’t be ruled out. At the moment, however, the current draft order has remained unchanged thus far.

2020 NBA Draft First Round 1-4 Draft Order

1st Pick – Minnesota Timberwolves
2nd Pick – Golden State Warriors
3rd Pick – Charlotte Hornets
4th Pick – Chicago Bulls

Each of the teams selecting in the top four will have a plethora of talent to choose from and will likely have other teams calling for trades on draft night as well. However, if no trades are made and the draft order remains intact, each of the four teams has holes that the top prospects available especially this early in the draft can fill.

2020 NBA Draft – 1st Overall Pick

  • LaMelo Ball -140
  • Anthony Edwards -110
  • James Wiseman +650
  • Cole Anthony +10000
  • Deni Avdija +10000
  • Obi Toppin +10000
  • R.J. Hampton +10000

Winner: LaMelo Ball (-140). Ball is one of the most intriguing prospects coming into the draft due to him playing professionally instead of going to college. The Minnesota Timberwolves front office has said they’ll select the most talented player regardless of fit and Ball certainly fits that mold. The Timberwolves also need help on the wing since they traded former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to the Golden State Warriors. Throwing in Ball with D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns gives Minnesota a young trio to build around for the next five years. Take the -140 odds on Ball to go to the Timberwolves.

2020 NBA Draft – 2nd Overall Pick

  • James Wiseman -115
  • Anthony Edwards +240
  • LaMelo Ball +300
  • Onyeka Okongwu +2500
  • Obi Toppin +2500
  • Deni Avdija +4000

Winner: James Wiseman (-115). With either LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards off the board, the Golden State Warriors with the second overall pick will likely select big man James Wiseman as they don’t need any guards. They’ll likely have both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry returning from injury and in full form. A versatile big man like Wiseman is the perfect fit for the Warriors no matter who is still on the board when Golden State makes the No. 2 pick. The case can be made that Wiseman is the most talented player in this draft and the Warriors won’t let him slip past the second pick.

2020 NBA Draft – 3rd Overall Pick

  • Anthony Edwards +200
  • LaMelo Ball +200
  • James Wiseman +250
  • Okyeka Okongwu +450
  • Deni Avdija +2000
  • Obi Toppin +2500
  • Killian Hayes +10000

Winner: Anthony Edwards (+200). The Charlotte Hornets are one of the youngest teams in the NBA and if they want to make a playoff push this year, they’ll need to select Anthony Edwards with the third pick in the draft and not trade this pick. Whether it’s Edwards or LaMelo Ball left when the Hornets make their pick, they need another scorer alongside Terry Rozier as they averaged a league-low 102.9 points per game last season. Take the +200 odds on Edwards to be taken with the third pick as he’ll be the best scorer available for the Hornets.

2020 NBA Draft – 4th Overall Pick

  • Deni Avdija +150
  • Obi Toppin +400
  • Onyeka Okongwu +450
  • James Wiseman +1000
  • LaMelo Ball +1200
  • Killian Hayes +1600

Winner: Onyeka Okongwu (+450). Okongwu coming off the board with the fourth picks will give the Bulls some help on the defensive side of the ball as he can switch onto smaller defenders and protect the rim. With better offensive choices on the board, rolling the dice on Okongwu’s +450 odds is a risk but the Bulls already have a roster filled with young guards that can score. Taking Okongwu gives the Bulls the much-needed help on the defensive side of the ball and will keep Lauri Markkanen from having to take punishment in the paint.

The NBA Draft is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EST and will be broadcasted by ESPN.
