2021 Week 15 Thursday Night Football: First TD Prop Odds

• Austin Ekeler and Travis Kelce are co-favorites to score the game’s first touchdown with +550 odds each.
• Patrick Mahomes has +1800 odds to score the first touchdown and Tyreek Hill sits at +600.

LOS ANGELES – The betting odds for which player will score the first touchdown of the game on Thursday are available and betting value remains with a few options.

The Rightful Favorite: Austin Ekeler (+550)

Austin Ekeler has been the Los Angeles Chargers’ top option on the ground and through the air this season as he leads the team with nine rushing touchdowns and is tied with seven receiving touchdowns as well. Legal sports betting sites have him listed as the favorite.

Not only does Ekeler have nine more touchdowns than anyone else on the team, but he’s had a knack for being the first person on his team to score in games.

Ekeler has been the team’s first touchdown scorer in five of the 13 games this season including in three of the last four weeks. His ability to score in both the rushing and receiving game make him the viable weapon and the best option for this prop betting line.

The Co-Favorite: Travis Kelce (+550)

Travis Kelce is fourth on his team in touchdowns trailing Tyreek Hill, Darrell Williams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. However, two of his five touchdowns have been the team’s first of the game and both of them have come within the last five games.

NFL betting sites may have overvalued Kelce’s line a bit as there very well could be a better option on his own team with a better chance and longer odds.

Other Options: Tyreek Hill (+600), Patrick Mahomes (+1800)

Hill is the team’s leading touchdown scorer with eight on the season but has also been the team’s first scorer in two games which is rather impressive considering he’s only scored in five games overall. If Hill is going to have an impactful game, it’s likely he’ll make it known early on.

Those interested in a longshot pick can find Patrick Mahomes at +1800. Believe it or not, Mahomes has been the team’s first scorer just as often as Kelce and Hill. Although he only has two rushing touchdowns on the season, both came early in games to give the Chiefs their first scores of those games.

His opportunities are much less frequent than others on the list, but at +1800 he may be worth a small bet. Thursday Night Football will begin at 8:20 p.m. EST on either FOX or the NFL Network.
