2022 March Madness Odds Show Wide-Open Field

• The Gonzaga Bulldogs are the +600 betting favorites to win the NCAA Tournament.

NEW ORLEANS – The 2022 NCAA Tournament is expected to be a highly-competitive event as the field is seemingly wide-open for many teams to make a run.

The Favorites: Gonzaga Bulldogs (+600)

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are a unique team in the college basketball world as they’re one of the most talented teams in the country but play in one of the weaker conferences in the WCC. Legal online betting sites have Gonzaga as the favorites, but it may be time for bettors to bet against them.

There’s no doubt that the team is among the most talented as it has one of the best players in Drew Timme, one of the top veteran point guards in Andrew Nembhard, and one of the top freshmen in Chet Holmgren. However, the Bulldogs simply disappoint in the postseason. A perfect example is the 2021 season where Gonzaga was thought to be one of the best teams of all time but failed to win the national title.

The Duke Blue Devils have one of the best rosters in the nation and are led by the potential No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft in Paolo Banchero. It’s Coach K’s last season as coach and he’ll surely be giving it his all to go out on top.

College basketball betting sites have already seen Duke beat Gonzaga and the Kentucky Wildcats and they will likely continue their dominance into ACC play once it begins. The Blue Devils, barring injury, will be in contention throughout the year which makes them a safe bet to make at this point in the season.

The Sleepers: Baylor (+1200), UCLA (+2000)

The Baylor Bears are currently the top-ranked team in the country but are just +1200 on the odds boards. They don’t have the most impressive resume, but at the end of the day the team is the reigning champions and are undefeated.

The UCLA Bruins started the season ranked second in the rankings and while Gonzaga did blow them out in their matchup, the team has veteran leadership in Johnny Juzang and Jaime Jaquez Jr. that should help the team get better and better throughout the year.

It is very early in the season and a lot will change as the year progresses but in terms of betting this early, pick the teams who are likely to remain elite.
