- There are +5000 odds for Illinois to win March Madness.
- Illinois has +900 odds to win the Midwest region.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois Fighting Illini are headed to their fifth straight NCAA Tournament in 2025 and are looking to capitalize on their Elite 8 run from last season.
Their far run last year was the furthest they’ve gone in March Madness since the 2004-05 season where they made it to the National Championship game.
Just ahead of the tournament, legal sports betting sites have them at +5000 odds to win the National Championship and +900 odds to win the Midwest Region and go on to the Final Four.
History, unfortunately, is not on Illinois’ side with where their odds are going into the tournament at +5000 odds. The last time they went into March Madness with higher than +5000 odds was in 2023 where they had +8000 odds and were bounced in the first round.
In the 2025 March Madness Tournament, the Illini are in the Midwest Region where they’ll face the winner of Xavier and Texas in the First Four matchup.
Illinois has been too close to really call all season with a 16-17 record against the spread and just a +1.1 cover margin average to show for it as well. Where there is a light to shine though is on their average winning margin which is 9.2 points and the fourth highest in the Big 10.
Illinois College Betting Restrictions
Betting on Illinois in March Madness while in Illinois can only be done on international Illinois sports betting sites as the state regulated betting sites are not allowed to offer odds on any in state college teams including the Illini.
Those planning to go to Milwaukee to watch Illinois play in person will also be met with the restriction of not being able to bet online in Wisconsin. Similar to Illinois, there are offshore Wisconsin betting sites that are available in the state to be able to bet on March Madness.
