ACC Tournament Betting: Alternate Lines For Louisville, GA Tech

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – March Madness in the ACC officially begins on Tuesday with three games to start the ACC Tournament. One game, in particular, to keep an eye on is the matchup between the Louisville Cardinals and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Going into the game, legal online sportsbooks are slightly in favor of Louisville coming out on top in this one with a 1.5-point spread. Many might argue that this is concerning being that the Cardinals finished off the regular season ice cold going 2-14 in their last 16 games.

With Louisville on a cold spell right now, the real money on this game could be made betting on the alternate lines in favor of Georgia Tech rather than their +105 moneyline odds.

Betting Alternate Lines

Getting right into it, Louisville is in the bottom ten of teams in the country against the spread this season with a 9-20-1 record. They also fail to cover the spread by 5.6 points and are losing their games by an average of 3.3 points. It is also worth noting that in those 14 games that they lost to finish the season, 13 of them came by a 5-point margin or more.

Although the Yellow Jackets finished with an unimpressive 5-9 record in their last 14 games of the season, each of their wins did come by four points or more.

There are also ongoing trends for both teams that could play into Georgia Tech covering their alternate lines. One being that Tech has been hot ATS in recent games going 5-1 in their last six games. They are also 4-1-1 in their last six games as an underdog and 4-1 in their last five against a team with a losing record.

As for the Cards, they have been on the opposite side of the spectrum against the spread in recent games. They went 2-8 against the spread in their last ten games following a straight-up loss. Also when going into a game as a favorite overall, they have gone 2-6-1 ATS.

Going back to Georgia Tech’s moneyline odds, while they do offer a nice $105 payout on a $100 bet, more profit could be made taking their alternate line of -1.5 at +110 or -2 at +120. Taking the college basketball odds on Georgia Tech -1.5 would profit $110 while -2 would profit $120.
