- Iowans will now have a Bally’s sportsbook available to them come the beginning of the new year.
- The gambling powerhouse has made a deal with Elite Casino Resorts in Iowa to open a mobile sports betting platform in the state.
- Iowa will be the first state with a purely mobile and internet gaming presence by Bally’s.
LARCHWOOD, Iowa – On Tuesday, the Bally’s Corporation announced they would be entering the Iowa mobile sports betting market via a multi-year deal with Elite Casino Resorts.
After all rules and regulations have been reviewed by the state, the sportsbook will be able to launch its online and mobile platform to be accessed by Iowans all over the Hawkeye State by 2021.
Iowa’s sportsbook will be the first of its kind in the sense that Bally’s does not own a retail casino to operate their internet sports wagering operations in the state, unlike everywhere else in the nation where they have businesses.
In total, there are now 11 states across the country where the Bally’s Corporation will have a gambling presence.
“The company generally prefers to enter a jurisdiction through an owned casino property, however, with how quickly the market is moving, entering through a market access agreement is a good solution and one that the company may use on occasion to ensure a comprehensive approach,” said Bally’s in a statement.
What’s Next?
Bally’s now utilizes Bet.Works technology for their sports betting platforms due to a recent acquisition of the company and ownership of all of their products for a price tag of $125 million.
Bet.Works has a number of software and content offerings for mobile and online sportsbooks that will now be available to all of Bally’s mobile outlets nationwide, with Iowa becoming a part of that once they officially enter the market of the Hawkeye State.
The company expects to unveil their mobile sports betting platform for eager sports betting enthusiasts in Iowa sometime at the beginning of 2021. Their partnership with Elite Casino Resorts has allowed them to become a licensed Iowa sports betting provider.
“We are delighted to partner with Elite Casino Resorts in Iowa. We currently operate sportsbooks in Rhode Island, Colorado, Delaware, Mississippi, and soon will be in Atlantic City. Entering the Iowa gaming market with our new, integrated sports betting and iGaming company is very exciting and we look forward to the launch in 2021,” said George Papanier, President and CEO of Bally’s Corporation.
