Belmont Stakes Odds Changes Following Post Position Release

• Following the release of post positions at the Belmont Stakes, odds for the betting favorite Forte lengthened from +175 to +200.

ELMONT, N.Y. – 2023 Belmont Stakes odds have moved around since the release of horse post positions. Forte remains the favorite to win the race, but his odds moved from +175 to +200 following the announcement of post positions.

The 2022 Belmont Stakes winning horse Mo Donegal, trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr., won out of post position six with +250 odds. In this year’s Belmont Stakes, Irad Ortiz will jockey Todd Pletcher’s Forte, who starts in post position six.

Forte has +200 Belmont Stakes odds to repeat history. The lengthening of Forte’s odds has more to do with other horses in better positions than Forte racing from a bad position.
