- Kurtis Rourke has -220 odds to stay under 1.5 passing touchdowns.
- Jeremiyah Love rushing + receiving yard total is set at 85.5.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host the Indiana Hoosiers in South Bend to kick off the 2024-25 College Football Playoff and there is betting value here across the board.
Two names to keep an eye on at legal sports betting sites are Kurtis Rourke and Jeremiyah Love. While both of them are two of the more explosive players in college football, stats say otherwise in this one.
Kurtis Rourke A Heavy Favorite To Stay Under Passing TDs
Kurtis Rourke Total Passing Touchdowns
- Over 1.5 +165
- Under 1.5 -220
There is no taking away that Rourke has had a Heisman like season and his 27 passing touchdowns speak for itself. However, this matchup against Notre Dame is arguably the toughest matchup of the year for him.
The Notre Dame defense is one of the best in the country against the pass and allowing QBs to throw touchdowns. They’ve held opposing quarterbacks to under 1.5 touchdowns in 10 of 12 games this season.
Similarly to Notre Dame, Rourke went up against another top passing defense in Ohio State earlier in the season where he was held to just 68 yards and no passing TDs.
That said, lean towards his under on college football betting sites in this one as the Irish are going to turn up the pressure in their first playoff game.
Indiana Keeping Jeremiyah Love In Check
Jeremiyah Love Total Rushing + Receiving Yards
- Over 85.5 -115
- Under 85.5 -115
To put it simply, Indiana has too tough of a run defense to let Love come anywhere close to this number. The Hoosiers not only lead the Big 10 but lead the country in rush yards allowed per game this season at just 70.8 which is extremely impressive in a predominantly run heavy conference.
In Indiana’s last four games, they’ve held three opposing running backs to under 85.5 rushing and receiving yards.
Love also really isn’t much of a factor in the receiving game as he averages just 1.8 receptions per game for an average of just over 17 receiving yards.
What could really hurt Love in this one is Riley Leonard’s ground attack as he’s rushing the ball 10.3 times per game for an average of 60 rushing yards. If Love does get shut down, expect Leonard to take matters into his own hands.
