INDIANAPOLIS – The Georgia Bulldogs have opened as favorites in the 2022 National Championship, but what other lines could carry betting value?

Georgia Bulldogs Spread Odds

It was likely surprising to many to find Georgia open up as the favorite over Alabama in their second meeting, but legal online sportsbooks have yet to budge with their line as it stands with the Bulldogs being three points better.

Since Alabama won the first meeting between the two and looked dominant in their College Football Playoff semifinal game, many were expecting the Crimson Tide to be the favorites but the opposite became true. It’s turning out to be a line that is so confusing that many are electing to blindly believe the sportsbooks in assuming they know something everyone else doesn’t.

Those who believe the odds are trying to tell something can get an EVEN money return on their investment if the Bulldogs cover a field goal.

First Quarter Spread Odds

Aside from having one of the best offenses in the country, Georgia is specifically talented in getting out to an early lead in the first quarter.

They averaged 10.4 points per first quarter this season which ranked fourth in the country nationally.

Not only do the Bulldogs score often, but they have the best first-quarter defense in the country that allows just 1.7 points per game. For what it’s worth, Georgia won the first quarter in the first meeting between the two.

Plus, Alabama both scores fewer and allows more points per first quarter than Georgia despite ranking top 25 in both.

Double Result Odds

Those betting on college football can find relatively generous odds on Georgia to control the game from start to finish. As the favorites, it wouldn’t be too uncommon to see them lead both at the half and at the end of the game.

The odds call it the most likely outcome but still leave value on the table.

In theory, the line doesn’t have value as a -130 and -140 parlay (the moneyline odds of first half and full-game) would pay much more than +125. But in the scenario in which Georgia jumps out to a 24-0 lead at the half, this line would have much more value as the full-game odds would change severely.
