NFL partners with Betcris

  • Betcris has entered a partnership with the NFL for the Latin American sports betting market.
  • This is the second major American sport the company has partnered within the last two months with the other being the MLB.

SAN JOSÉ – Sports betting operator Betcris continues to make moves within American sports markets as is evident with their new deal as the official sportsbook for the NFL within Latin America.

In July, the company partnered with the MLB. Now they have ties to two of the top sports in the world to offer their customers top betting lines.

These deals have put the name Betcris back on the map, after having retreated from the United States business in 2007, prior to the repeal of PASPA and the legalization of sports wagering throughout numerous states in the country.

Betcris And Their NFL Deal

The amount of money that went into making this partnership a reality was not disclosed to the public but one would assume it was not cheap as the NFL is the most wagered on sport in most places and Latin America is one of them.

The company is based out of Costa Rica, like many of their kind. BetCris stands to gain plenty from being a partner to the National Football League.

“We are beyond excited to become the first official sports betting partner of the NFL in Latin America, and we look forward to further enhancing the experience for our users,” said JD Duarte, CEO of Betcris. “This represents the culmination of years of work to make Betcris a household name in Latin America. With this partnership, Betcris now enjoys a great competitive advantage that serves our long-term goals well. The NFL has proven to be an ideal partner throughout this process and we look forward to working together.”

Betcris will now be able to use the NFL logo in Latin America and their brand will be posted within official NFL platforms which allows their name to gain a bigger and more prominent following.

They will receive official sponsorship in 2021 for the NFL International Game that occurs in Mexico along with being a partner to the Pick ‘Em game that the League has each season.

Then, of course, there is the data and statistics of the NFL that will be available to Betcris for the purposes of setting lines for gambling on the games.

The NFL In Latin American Sports Betting

Betcris is known for putting out bets on sporting events early, it’s their signature, so Latin American football fans will now have premium access.

The Malta Gaming Authority has licensed Betcris to operate which has allowed them to open their business up to the MLB and NFL in Latin America. That’s huge for a company that once worked in the shadows of the American sports betting industry.

These deals are part of a bigger plan for the sportsbook to be able to enter the US and its legal sports wagering market in the future. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.

For now, they’re happy with having access to official MLB and NFL information to allow their customers the best wagers possible on these sports. While Betcris is excited, the NFL is also happy to get exposure in Latin America.

“As our fan base continues to grow in Latin America, it was important that we partner with a trusted industry leader in the territory,” said Christopher Halpin, NFL executive vice president and director of strategy and growth. “Betcris’s capabilities in this important region, and its management team’s experience and commitment to the highest standards made it clear that it was the right partner for the NFL. We look forward to working together to attract new and existing fans in these markets.”
