The sports lounge will allow patrons to wager on the game live from the BetRivers mobile app while providing high tech sports betting lounge for watching the game live.
The lounge will have two rows of comfortable seating with several big screen TV’s that display odds and different angles of the Penguins games. Both the team and the popular sportsbook have expressed their excitement for the partnership.
“This is an exciting extension of our longstanding relationship with Rivers,” said David Morehouse, president and CEO of the Penguins. “The BetRivers Lounge is one of a number of projects we are undertaking at PPG Paints Arena to provide an enhanced and safe fan experience in a post-COVID environment.”
The new sports lounge will be built in the arena after the removal of several rows at the top section of the lower bowl. Section 120 will be reformed into the legal sports betting area.
“Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s proud partnership with the Penguins dates back to our grand opening,” said Bill Keena, general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “Besides ongoing promotions, we partnered with the Lemieux Foundation when table games debuted in 2010, and last year, when we launched the expanded BetRivers Sportsbook, Iceburgh was right by my side. The new BetRivers Lounge at PPG Paints Arena takes this longstanding relationship to a whole new level-literally.”
The project is said to be complete by the start of the 2021 NHL season and is made to have the same feel as the popular Rivers Casino BetRivers sportsbook. The architect that is designing the lounge is the same designer that built the Rivers Casino lounge.
Sports bettors will now have a new way to get in on the action.
