Betting Odds for Scottie & Rory vs Brooks & Bryson in the LIV vs PGA Showdown

LAS VEGAS – Tuesday night features a perfect golf betting event named “The Showdown”, which consists of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler going head-to-head with LIV Tour players Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. The PGA Tour players are favored with -165 legal sports betting odds to win The Showdown, but there are plenty of different ways to bet the 18-hole contest.

The first six holes of The Showdown use a four-ball format where all four players will use their own ball and the lowest score from each team will be recorded for that hole. For example, if DeChambeau gets a birdie but Koepka gets a par, the LIV team will take Bryson’s birdie as their score for that hole.

Betting odds at PGA Tour betting sites favor McIlroy and Scheffler (+120) to win the fourball segment, but DeChambeau and Koepka (+175) are intriguing underdogs. There are also +275 odds for holes 1-6 to result in a tie.

As for holes 7-12, LIV golf sportsbooks offer shorter odds on the LIV pairing to win the foursome’s segment. Each team will hit alternate shots with the same golf ball until they make it, with players alternating off the tee box.

The format for the final six holes changes to two single head-to-head matches, although those one-on-one matchups haven’t been publicly determined yet. It would be interesting to see a U.S. Open rematch between DeChambeau and McIlroy after the two battled it out on the final day of the 2024 U.S. Open Championship.

Back Scheffler/McIlroy To Win The Showdown (-165)

It’s hard to bet against Scottie Scheffler’s +3.27 strokes gained per round (last 50 rounds) with any teammate, especially when its Rory McIlroy who ranks fifth in the world at +1.93 strokes gained per round. Meanwhile, DeChambeau is at +1.82 strokes gained and Koepka’s at +0.74 strokes gained in their last 50 rounds of golf.
