KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Now that Super Bowl 57 is in the rearview, many can now shift their focus to betting on the NFL Draft and there are plenty of odds to choose from. One of the biggest NFL Draft prop odds available comes on which QB will be drafted first.
The pool is small with just three quarterbacks listed with odds on NFL betting sites. Leading the way with the shortest odds to be drafted as the first QB is former Alabama QB, Bryce Young.
First QB Selected 2023 NFL Draft
- Bryce Young -200
- CJ Stroud +300
- Will Levis +450
This set of 2023 NFL Draft odds could be determined rather early on in the draft with eight of the top 10 teams potentially in the market for a quarterback. The Chicago Bears own the first pick in the draft in 2023, however, they have not yet made a decision on the future of Justin Fields with the team after his explosive emergence.
Even if the Bears do not opt to take a QB, the Houston Texans are the second pick, and taking a QB is their number one priority and they have made that known. Other teams with top-10 picks that could be in the market for a QB include the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers.
Race Between Young, Stroud; Levis Odd Man Out
There is a reason the former Kentucky QB, Will Levis’ odds are the longest and that is because his skillset alone does not match that of Bryce Young or CJ. He has also been questioned as NFL ready or not.
Both Young and Stroud finished 900+ passing yards and 10+ TDs ahead of Levis during their final college football season. Both Young and Stroud play extremely similar styles with both throwing for 3,300+ yards and 30+ touchdowns with just over 100 rushing yards each. They also each had less than 7 interceptions on the year with top-10 QB ratings. They have also both been Heisman finalists and both have played in the National Championship game.
The only difference is that Young has won a Heisman and a National Championship while Stroud has not.
It should be noted though that DeMeco Ryans, the new head coach of the Houston Texans is an alumnus of the Alabama Crimson Tide and could opt to sway in the direction of Young out of respect for the Tide.
