- Three different underdogs of seven or more points won outright in the NFL.
LAS VEGAS – It was another week of upsets in the NFL, as three different teams favored by seven or more ATS all lost outright this week. This is the second straight week that this has happened in the NFL.
The Miami Dolphins, (+8.5) Carolina Panthers (+7) and Washington Football Team (+9.5) all secured big upset victories of the week, leaving many NFL survivor pools in complete shambles.
Road underdogs had another successful week, picking up three outright victories and one tie.
ATS Dominance
The Green Bay Packers (-3) covered ATS once again this season, with a 17-0 defensive clinic over the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers have only failed to cover ATS once this season.
The Dallas Cowboys (-8) returned to form this weekend, blowing out the Atlanta Falcons 43-3.
The Packers and Cowboys have been the best NFL teams to back this year ATS, having combined for only two ATS losses.
Upsets
The Carolina Panthers (+7) and Miami Dolphins (+8.5) secured the biggest upsets of the week, both winning outright as sizable underdogs.
The Super Bowl LVI odds of the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals should both worsen if looking to “buy low” on either team moving forward.
Sportsbooks cashed in big time Sunday on the Washington Football Team (+9.5) with their 29-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay -9.5 was one of the most heavily bet sides at legal sportsbooks, claiming over 90% of the total money wagered on the game.
Sunday Night Football
The Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) returned to old form on Sunday Night Football, pounding the Las Vegas Raiders 41-14.
The Chiefs have now seized control of the AFC West, and will see all of their future odds shorten this week.
CFB Betting Notes
The Oklahoma Sooners (+4) home in the top five of the college football rankings finally concluded after falling to the Baylor Bears 27-14 on the road.
The Florida State Seminoles (+2.5) notched an outright victory as an home underdog with a 31-28 victory over the Miami Hurricanes.
The Alabama Crimson Tide (-51) had no problems covering ATS against the New Mexico State Aggies, securing a 56 point victory at home.
LSU Vs Arkansas (-3.5) fell drastically short of the game total of 59 points, despite going to double overtime, ending 16-13.
