Betting The Primetime College Football Games This Week

• Three primetime games feature two top 25 matchups in college football.
• Betting odds favor the home teams in two of the matchups as well. 

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In a week of college football with the return of Big 10 football, it brings a greater slate of Saturday football.

This weekend, primetime games fill the stages with two top 25 matchups and the reigning national champions. Through all of the college football lines, those who increased their betting bankroll earlier in the day will have plenty of action to lay.

South Carolina vs. LSU

Despite being between two unranked SEC teams, this matchup features a self-imposed sanctioned LSU Tigers team at home taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Starting at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, the Tigers are 4.5-point favorites with -190 odds. The line opened at 7.5 in favor of LSU so a field goal adjustment has already occurred.

This could create a perfect middling scenario or allow bettors to live hedge their bets during the game.

South Carolina and LSU have only met 7 times, with the last meeting occurring in 2015. With not betting trends for this matchup, this might just be the game to flip through and avoid betting.

Michigan vs. Minnesota

In a ranked battle between the #18 Michigan Wolverines and #21 Minnesota Golden Gophers, the Big 10 takes the primetime spot on ABC at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Despite playing on the road, Michigan is -165 on the moneyline and is giving three points to Minnesota. The action has still been hitting on the Michigan side of the line, adding a hook at some college football betting sites.

The Wolverines have won the last two in the battle between these two programs and have even won eight of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2005.

With the Wolverines also covering the spread in seven of those matchups, everything supports betting on the Michigan Wolverines.

Cincinnati vs. SMU

In the final primetime game hitting the ESPN2 network a little later (9 p.m .ET), the #9 Cincinnati Bearcats take on the #16 SMU Mustangs.

The line flipped the script, originally opening at 1.5 point underdogs for SMU at home.

These teams haven’t met since 2018 and only a handful of times before that. Still, the Bearcats hold the 3-1 advantage, with both teams covering the spread twice.

Though both teams are undefeated, they have posted average ATS records: 1-2 (CINCI) and 3-2 (SMU). Cincinnati failed to cover a 40.5-point spread as well as a 22.5-point spread so they have some easy excuses behind them.

Still, the question remains if the Cincinnati passing defenses can hold up like it has against an SMU offense that has seen back to back games with 439+ passing yards.

These are only a few of the games available during primetime on Saturday, as the entire slate features games on the Big 10 Network, ACC Network, ESPNU, and FS1. With games finishing kickoffs at 10:30 p.m. ET, these are only a handful of the college football betting lines available.
