- DraftKings and the MLB will begin offering sports bettors more ways to get involved with gambling on baseball beginning Monday with the Home Run Derby.
- Live-In game sports betting on baseball games will now be available on DraftKings sports betting platforms under the “Bet & Watch” category.
- Daily Fantasy Sports with the MLB will also see more action through the expanded partnership.
BOSTON – DraftKings Sportsbook and the MLB have expanded their features within their sports betting partnership, the gaming company announced on Friday. Both gambling on baseball and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) will be affected by this new deal.
Live in-game betting is one of the new offerings that can be found through all DraftKings platforms when users are wagering on the MLB.
DraftKings is the sole official DFS sportsbook for Major League Baseball, having access to all league data for their customers. Collaborations, promotions, and various other baseball-related themes will be seen through DraftKings to invite more gamblers to participate in betting on the MLB.
What The Organizations Are Saying About The Expansion
The sportsbook is now an Official Sports Betting Partner for baseball for the duration of both regular and postseason games. MLB Jewel Events will allow DraftKings to hold promotions and other opportunities for fans to engage in regulated sports betting activities.
The DraftKings brand will be seen throughout the MLB as well as the MLB branding being seen with DraftKings outlets.
“For nearly a decade, our growing relationship with DraftKings has been rooted in fan engagement and the second-screen immersion of sports gaming and entertainment products,” said Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive Vice President, Business Development. “This next iteration of unique and experiential offerings is something we look forward to rolling out together as baseball fans continue to embrace technological advances.”
The two organizations first began a partnership nine years ago in 2012. As the expansion features are already in play, the most famous mobile sportsbook in the United States will be offering a “Hit It Here” promo for the 2021 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday to put this new deal in full swing.
Winners will get a shot at receiving free tickets to a game for the 2021 MLB World Series.
Two free-to-play pools will also take place for the Home Run Derby as well that total $50,000 in combined prizes for potential winners to get their hands on.
“As we adapt and scale integrations within the constantly evolving sports landscape, MLB and DraftKings will again shape the future of fan engagement in baseball and beyond,” said Matt Kalish, President DraftKings North America and co-founder.
Bettor Up
DraftKings and the MLB have a lot in store for fans. Pretty much everything is up for grabs to lure sports bettors to the sport of baseball and wagering on the games in general. Fans should expect to see more MLB-centered deals on DraftKings as well as contests and betting lines for the sport.
With the 2021 season being right in the middle, it’s a perfect time to begin getting in on the baseball action and DraftKings knows it.
The 2021 Home Run Derby begins on Monday at 8 p.m. EST on the ESPN Network, so for all fans wanting to get in on the DraftKings MLB offers we say “bettor up.”
