MIAMI – The Miami Open and Betway Sportsbook have partnered with one another, making Betway the official sports betting partner of the major tennis event.
As one of the ATP Tour’s Masters 1000 men’s events and Premier 1000 women’s WTA Tour tournament, the Miami Open will have plenty of eyes on it.
Betway will see its brand courtside during matches at the Hard Rock Stadium and promote tennis betting for the Miami Open throughout the app.
Betway Meets Miami Open
The partnership between the popular sports betting operation Betway and the Miami Open tennis event is intended to increase fan engagement while both brands benefit from promotions.
Players will find exclusive betting opportunities for the US Open on Betway, and the sportsbook is expected to see an increase in activity with the tennis event promoting the app.
“We’re incredibly excited to be announcing our Sports Betting Partnership with the Miami Open,” said Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO. “As a globally recognised brand, we’re excited to be involved with one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world which plays host to some huge names in the sport.”
Betway has sponsored a few tennis events in the past, including the Tie Break Tens and the Davis Cup national tournament.
ATP and WTA events were not allowed to partner with sports betting entities due to a two-year ban implemented. The ban was lifted in 2021, allowing Betway and the Miami Open to join forces.
With the partnership, both brands expect to see increases from the deal. Sports leagues have embraced legal sports betting as a way to promote themselves for a new growing audience.
The Miami Open is running from March 22 to April 4, giving Betway two weeks of promotions. This year’s Miami Open will allow up to 750 fans per session. The limited fans are due to COVID-19 precautions.
While major names will be competing, key players like Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic will not be participating in this year’s event.
