- Joe Biden has short -140, -150, and -140 odds at multiple sportsbooks to win the Presidential Election after the first Presidential Debate.
- Betting odds to win the presidential election have not shifted drastically following the debate.
- The first debate saw both candidates attack and insult one another in a wild fashion.
CLEVELAND – The first of three Presidential Debates was held on Tuesday night and the results have sports bettors relatively stagnant. Joe Biden continues to be the favorite to win the election at multiple sportsbooks and President Donald Trump’s odds have not gotten shorter or longer.
The debate can only be described as ridiculous as both candidates spent the night talking over one another and hurling insults and accusations.
Sports bettors were not swayed in either direction following the back and forth between candidates. There are two more debates scheduled before Election Day.
Odds In Biden’s Favor
Former VP Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential Election odds have continued to be shorter than President Donald Trump’s and the first debate results have the odds remaining that way.

What Was Said
The wild debate saw Trump spend the night cutting off Biden at every turn, and Biden hurling insults at the President. Both candidates criticized the careers of one another and neither candidate managed to allow moderator Chris Wallace to get a hold of the night.
The hurling of insults and lack of answering questions from Trump could explain why Biden’s odds remain the shortest. Trump used insults to deflect on many of VP Biden’s criticisms. Many insults from both candidates aired on the side of juvenile.
“Did you use the word smart?” said President Trump to Biden. “You graduated either the lowest or almost the lowest in your class. Don’t ever use the word smart with me, Joe.”
Trump also accused Biden of a career of corruption, ignoring any of the good stats that occurred in the country during the Obama ministration and painting Biden’s son, who struggles with substance abuse, at the forefront of his criticism.
Not to be outdone, Biden also hurled many insults to the president. Biden accused Trump of being the worst president ever, specifically attacking his response to the coronavirus and the racial unrest in the country.
“Under this president, we’ve become weaker, sicker, poorer, more divided, and more violent,” said Biden.
Sports bettors at legal sports betting sites have not been swayed much by the first debate.
The second debate will be held in Miami, Florida on October 15 and hosted by Steve Scully. Online sportsbooks will likely have Presidential Debate odds for the second debate as well. The odds for the presidential election could shift before or after that event.
