DES MOINES, Iowa – With many sports fans in the Midwest ready for IA sportsbooks to launch, only one more obstacle stands. In order for sportsbooks in Iowa to get the green light, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) has authorized BMM Testlabs to certify all sports wagering systems.
BMM Testlabs has been operating since 1981 and has established itself as the most experienced private independent gaming certification lab in the world.
During the IRGC’s last meeting, the Commission approved sports betting operations for 18 of the state’s 19 casinos. Many of them are hoping to launch some type of sportsbook platform at their first opportunity which will be August 15, 2019.
However, before they can offer legal sports betting, they will have to have their products tested by BMM Testlabs.
Travis Foley, COO of BMM Testlabs shared his thoughts on working with the IRGC in the company’s press release.
“BMM is very pleased to have been approved to issue certifications for sport wagering in Iowa. We are now taking supplier submissions immediately. BMM appreciates the support provided by Brian Ohorilko, Administrator of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission; Ian Hudson, Compliance Officer and Tina Eick, Director of Operations. We enjoyed working with everyone at the IRGC. Thank you all for your cooperation and diligence during this process.”
