Can The Madden 21 Simulation Be Trusted By Super Bowl 55 Bettors

TAMPA, Fla. – With Super Bowl 55 only a few days away, the annual NFL Madden simulation occurred where the Big Game is run on the popular videogame to try and predict the winner.

The year, Madden 21 predicts the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-27. The Chiefs are also favored to win at online sportsbooks.

While Madden has successfully predicted the winner in the past, the videogame simulation has gotten the winner wrong a few times. Should legal sports betting participants trust the Madden simulation with their Super Bowl 55 bets?

For the straight win, Madden has been correct 11 out of the 17 seasons the prediction has been active. That is a 64.7% win rate. This is not a bad basis for NFL bettors to look towards when betting on the Money Line.

Madden picking the Chiefs is not that farfetched, however, as the Chiefs are the current favorites at online sportsbooks and Madden historically leans towards the favorite in its simulation.

The 37-27 final score shows that Madden 21 has the Chiefs easily covering the spread, and has the totals hitting the Over. Madden’s scores in the past have varied from either being too high or too low.

Madden has only predicted the final score correct once with Super Bowl 49, in the 17 years, the simulation has occurred. That is a 0.05% accuracy rating. Those betting on the final score may want to ignore the Madden results this year.

Madden has Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes winning Super Bowl MVP. Mahomes is also the favorite to win at legal sports betting sites.

According to the Madden simulation, Mahomes will end the game by scoring four TD’s off of 422 passing yards. Buccaneers QB Tom Brady scored three TD’s and has 332 passing yards and one interception in the game.

Players shouldn’t base their player prop betting off of the simulation, however, as Madden is still a videogame. The Simulation doesn’t account for player error, nerves, or will to win. These cannot be simulated virtually.

So the question remains, should sports bettors look to the Madden 21 simulation for betting on the actual game? Outside of taking the Moneyline, where the simulation just picked the favorite Chiefs to win anyways, it may be a better bet to ignore the results altogether.
