LAS VEGAS – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are the defending champions and are listed as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ biggest threat.

Winnipeg may be feeling slighted as they won their first Grey Cup in nearly 30 years in 2019 (as the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19). Despite being the defending champions, legal sports betting sites do not list the Blue Bombers as the favorites to repeat.

Winnipeg will return most of their team from the championship-winning season keeping the core of QB Zach Collaros, Willie Jefferson, and Andrew Harris together to operate behind one of the league’s premier offensive lines.

It should be noted that the Blue Bombers were not an elite team throughout the year as they only tallied an 11-7 record in the regular season, good for third in their division.

The Tiger-Cats were the runner-up a season ago and will be looking to avenge their loss and should be in a good spot to do so. Like Winnipeg, Hamilton brought back most of the team but didn’t improve as much as fans may have hoped for, seemingly missing opportunities to build a stronger unit. But the team did have the best record in the CFL (15-3), so how much improvement is really necessary?

The entire league is within striking distance of the favorites according sports betting sites with the exception of the Ottawa Redblacks.

It’s likely this way partially due to the fact that there was no 2020 season and there’s no telling how teams will look after a full year away from the game. Either way, the odds are generous enough to bet on a couple of different teams and still get a guaranteed profit.
