EAST ST LOUIS, Ill. – DraftKings has officially expanded to the Prairie State with its new partnership with Casino Queen, bringing land-based and mobile sports betting to Illinois.
The partnership rebrands the popular East St. Louis casino as DraftKings at Casino Queen, fully combining the two into one brand. With the partnership, DraftKings avoids having to wait another 18 months to launch in Illinois as they are now an official casino in the state. The original agreement prevented outside sportsbooks from launching for a time.

The Illinois sports betting market has added another sportsbook to its base with this new partnership between DraftKings and Casino Queen.
The full-service betting experience will be available to all sports bettors in the Prairie State as the revamped casino will have a modern style sporting lounge for all its patrons.

The way the partnership is set up allows DraftKings to launch in Illinois without being penalized.
When Illinois approved sports betting, a clause was implemented preventing any partnership with outside sportsbooks from launching for 18 months. The reason for this was to give local sportsbooks a head start on the market.
With DraftKings now becoming a local casino, they have found a loophole and are able to bring its sportsbook to Illinois residents.

DraftKings at Casino Queen is now officially accepting wagers for the MLB upcoming and will look to capitalize when in-season NBA betting returns. You do not need to physically be at the casino to join the DraftKings sportsbook.
DraftKings in Illinois being able to launch legal sports betting in time for the return of sports should bode big results in betting revenue.
