D’Eriq King

  • Top picks for College Football daily fantasy at each position this Saturday include Miami quarterback D’Eriq King available on DraftKings for $9,300.
  • Other top choices include Micheal Penix Jr. from Indiana ($7,200), Ian Book of Notre Dame ($7,000), Javonte Williams from North Carolina ($9,500), and Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson ($8,800).

LAS VEGAS – This weekend brings another exciting money-making opportunity in the world of college football daily fantasy.

DraftKings is once again running its $175,000 CFB Saturday Kickoff tournament, where bettors will choose a team of eight players across the noon slot of games. Bettors are given $15,000 in their budget to select their team.

In order to choose the best team, it is important to identify the players with the best matchups and price value. With so many cancellations and postponements due to the coronavirus affecting college football this weekend the pool of players to choose from has been drastically limited.

Nevertheless, there are still many strong choices for players looking to pick the perfect college football squad.

Quarterback

QB1: D’Eriq King, Miami ($9,300)

Starting off with a player that has been dominating throughout 2020, D’Eriq King of the Miami Hurricanes. The Canes are quietly 6-1 on the season largely due to the play of King, with their only loss coming at the hands of Clemson.

King is averaging 261.3 yards per game, including a 430 yard, five-touchdown effort against NC State last weekend. Miami goes up against Virginia Tech this weekend, who ranks 86th in points allowed to QBs this season and is coming off of a loss to Liberty.

QB2: Michael Penix Jr., Indiana ($7,200)

For those who aren’t aware, the Indiana Hoosiers football team is undefeated and making serious noise in the Big Ten this season. While Indiana’s defense has been showing up in a major way, the brunt of the work has been laid on the shoulders of quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who is putting up some gaudy numbers through three games.

The Hoosiers go up against Michigan State this weekend, who are 1-2 in 2020. Penix Jr. should be able to run around and throw over a Spartan defense that has yet to show any impressive signs.

Value QB: Ian Book, Notre Dame ($7,000)

In the biggest game of the week last Saturday, No. 1 Clemson fell to Notre Dame for their first regular-season loss since 2017. The win was huge for the Fighting Irish, who were led by quarterback Ian Book. Book threw for 310 yards and added 64 on the ground to get his team over the hump.

While Book isn’t an elite playmaker, he always puts up solid stats and appears to currently be the most in tune with his offense than at any point in his career. The Irish take on Boston College this weekend, who ranks 122nd in points allowed to quarterbacks this season.

Running Back

RB1: Javonte Williams, North Carolina ($9,500)

UNC’s Javonte Williams is approaching must-start territory for fantasy lineups. Last week against Duke, Williams had 48.5 fantasy points after putting up 151 yards on the ground, three rushing touchdowns, and one receiving touchdown.

Williams takes on Wake Forest this weekend, who are sneakily strong on defense. Nevertheless, Williams should be the strongest priority for DFS players looking to bet at a legal DFS betting site.

RB2: Kyren Williams, Notre Dame ($8,900)

When choosing an ACC running back this season, it is safe to go with one named Williams. Kyren Williams is the Notre Dame variant, who had the game of his life against Clemson. Kyren put up 140 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries against the stout Tiger defense, scoring 35.8 fantasy points in the process.

Even with Ian Book’s improvements, Williams is still the number one option for the Notre Dame offense at this time and going forward. Owners who draft Williams can expect another robust game out of him this weekend.

Value RB: Kenneth Walker III, Wake Forest ($7,400)

One of the most consistent RBs this has been Wake Forest’s Kenneth Walker III. The elder statesmen of the Demon Deacons has been getting solid production this season, going for over 25 fantasy points in three of his six games.

Walker III draws a good matchup against UNC this weekend, where he will be tasked with the majority of goal-line carries. Walker III had three touchdowns last week and could do the same this Saturday.

Wide Receiver

WR1: Jahan Dotson, Penn State ($8,800)

Over in the Big Ten, Jahan Dotson has probably been the lone bright spot on a Penn State team that finds itself 0-3 after a series of tough defeats. Despite the circumstances, Dotson has been able to pop this year and establish himself as not only one of the best receivers in the conference, but in the country.

Through three games Dotson has 361 yards and five touchdowns on 21 catches. Against Ohio State, Dotson put up 43.4 fantasy points. Against a Nebraska Cornhusker secondary, Dotson should find himself open on many opportunities.

WR2: Tutu Atwell, Louisville ($6,500)

Back to the ACC where Tutu Atwell has a very favorable matchup this Saturday. Atwell’s Louisville Cardinals take on the Virginia Cavaliers, who rank 105th in points allowed to wideouts this season.

Atwell is always able to score high, going for 31.1 fantasy points two weeks ago on just three catches. He is a bit touchdown-dependent but should have no problem finding the endzone this Saturday.

Value WR: Drake London, USC ($5,800)

The world welcomed back Pac-12 football last Saturday and was quickly introduced to USC’s Drake London. London caught eight passes for the Trojans for 125 yards during their comeback win over Arizona State, including the game-winning touchdown with 1:29 left in the game.

London led all receivers in the game and looks to be the most dangerous weapon in a high-powered USC offense. While there is risk picking a player after one good game, London has great upside against a scattered Arizona team.
