- The betting platform will be live on the website for Michigan residents and a land-based sportsbook in Island Resort and Casino.

HARRIS, Mich. – Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced its expansion of the BetAmerica brand in Michigan’s betting market in a partnership with the Hannahville Indian community.
The online gaming entertainment and wagering company will now be adding sports betting and iGaming on both online and land-based platforms once it receives regulatory approval and gaming licenses.
CDI plans to open a brick-and-mortar BetAmerica sportsbook at Island Resort &Casino in Harris, Michigan. There will also be a BetAmerica online sportsbook and iGaming platform available throughout the state.
“We are pleased to be able to offer sports fans throughout Michigan our innovative BetAmerica sportsbook and iGaming product,” said Bill Mudd, COO of CDI. “Guests of Island Resort & Casino as well as online players in the Michigan will be able to access sports betting, the best in online casino games and unique promotions through BetAmerica.”
Online and land-based sports betting in Michigan was legalized in December 2019 but there is no set time for the state to launch a platform.
Legal sports betting options will be available for residents in Michigan through the BetAmerica website. Players will be able to place bets on US and International professional sports along with collegiate sporting events.

The BetAmerica sportsbooks will be adding Michigan to the list of states that have already launched the sportsbook including Indiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
