CLEMSON, S.C. — The college football season has continued to push forward despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus has now altered just about every aspect of the college football season and now the Heisman Trophy race can be added onto that list.

Although a date for the Heisman Trophy ceremony has yet to be announced, legal sportsbooks still have the latest odds for who will take home college football’s most prestigious award.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence came into the season a heavy favorite for the award as he became the odds on favorite with +103 odds in early October. Lawrence testing positive for Covid-19 has forced him to enter a ten-day quarantine.

In the span of that quarantine, Lawrence has already missed the Tigers comeback win against Boston College and will not play in Clemson’s showdown against the No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Missing these games due to the coronavirus severely hurt Lawrence’s Heisman Trophy odds, as he’s now slipped into third place on the oddsboard with +375 odds after missing his first game.

Between Fields and Jones, the latter probably has the best shot at bringing home the Heisman outside of Lawrence.
