College Football Playoff Bracket Futures: Take The Favorites

• The Georgia Bulldogs are the favorite to make the National Championship Game by winning the right bracket (+145).

ATLANTA – The first expanded College Football Playoff kicks off on the 20 of December and Oregon and Texas are tied as the two favorites at most legal betting sites. The Georgia Bulldogs are right behind (+400) and may have the clearest path to winning the playoff.

Georgia is the current favorite to win the right side of the CFP bracket (+145) and make their third National Championship appearance since 2022. Even with uncertainty at quarterback, college football betting sites favor the Bulldogs to make it through the competition.

After the first week bye, the Bulldogs will face the winner of Notre Dame and Indiana. To make the National Championship game, Georgia will have to either play Boise State, SMU, or Penn State. Based on how the regular season has played out, Georgia should be favored in any of these potential matchups.

When it comes to teams on the right side of the bracket, none of them have nearly as much experience as Georgia. The Bulldogs have made four College Football Playoffs, Notre Dame has made three, and the remaining teams are in for the first time.

While Oregon is the favorite to win the left side of the CFP bracket and make the National Championship game, this side feels more competitive. Oregon has the first-round bye and will be waiting on the winner of Tennessee and Ohio State to find out their first opponent.

Ohio State is favored by 7.5 against Tennessee and will face Oregon for the second time this season if they move on. The Oregon Ducks won that game in a thriller at home and would most likely be favored at college football betting sites if they meet again.

If Oregon does make it past their first game and the second round of the CFP, they will have to face Clemson, Texas, or Arizona State for a chance to play for the National Championship.

Longshot CFP Bets

Even though Oregon, Texas, and Georgia are the clear favorites to win the 2024-25 College Football Playoffs, there are still a few underdogs that have intriguing odds.

SMU To Win The Right Bracket +1500

SMU only has two losses on the season and have won both games this year that they played as the underdog. SMU plays Penn State in the first round and is a nine-point underdog. Penn State is 1-2 SU this season against ranked teams and could be on upset alert. SMU would play Boise State in the second round and then would have to play Indiana, Notre Dame, or Georgia to make the National Championship.

Clemson To Beat Texas +330

The Clemson Tigers are bringing plenty of momentum into the College Football Playoffs and play Texas in the first round. Texas has struggled in big games this season, losing to Georgia twice. Clemson and Dabo Swinney have the second most CFP appearances (7) and are a nightmare of a first-round matchup. If Clemson knocks off Texas, Arizona State will be waiting for them in the second round.
