Chuba Hubbard costs $10,200 on fantasy college football sites but could be well worth it this weekend.

  • Alabama Crimson Tide Quarterback Mac Jones costs $9,900 on DFS sites.
  • Chuba Hubbard costs a steep price of $10,200 from the same sites.
  • George Pickens might be overlooked this week but DFS sites list him at $8,400.

STILLWATER, Okla.—As college football Saturday approaches, just like NFL Sunday’s, fantasy football GM’s can create fantasy football lineups for college football.

What makes college fantasy football different from NFL fantasy football is that there are more teams to choose from which means more players have the possibility of offering big performances.

That being said, this optimal lineup is a suggestion and should be tweaked to the fantasy owners’ liking.

QB – Mac Jones, Alabama, $9,900
RB – Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State, $10,200
RB – Zamir White, Georgia, $8,700
WR – Tamorrion Terry, Florida State, $8,400
WR – George Pickens, Georgia, $8,400
WR – Braden Smith, Louisville, $6,900
FLEX – Malik Davis, Florida, $7,500

Quarterback

Starting at the top, Mac Jones was named the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide just a few days ago. That alone should be enough to persuade daily fantasy football owners to draft him to their team.

Jones filled in as the starter in 2019 when Tua Tagovailoa went down with an injury and did not disappoint as he put up 1,503 yards and 14 touchdowns in 11 starts. Also, the fact that Nick Saban has the confidence to start him should be a comforting sign.

Add that in with the fact that he’s making his start this season against the Missouri Tigers, at his value, he can offer great upside.

Running Backs

Looking at the first running back spot, Chuba Hubbard of the Oklahoma State Cowboys should be a no brainer no matter what his cost is. Hubbard was amongst the Heisman finalists in 2019 after putting up 2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns.

This week, Hubbard is going up against the West Virginia Mountaineers, who last year he put up a total of 106 rushing yards and 88 receiving yards. As long as He can continue his Heisman campaign this season in his second game, fantasy owners will not be disappointed.

The second running back spot is filled by Zamir White who is the new lead back for the Georgia Bulldogs. Being that he was just the backup last season, his numbers were nothing to show for, but being that he is gaining the opportunity to showcase in 2020 in a lead role should give him a boost.

He is going up against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the opening week of the SEC in which he was only able to put up 23 scrimmage yards last year but did score a touchdown. At his value on legal betting sites, he can bring a lot to the table.

Wide Receivers

The first wide receiver spot is filled by Tamorrion Terry from the Florida State Seminoles. Terry is the lead receiver on this Seminoles team as he brings explosive capabilities to a team that is trying so hard to get back on track.

He put up over 130 yards on three separate occasions in 2019 and had a decent 52-yard opener against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This week, however, he is going up against the Miami Hurricanes which is a rival game for the Seminoles that are usually high scoring games. If there was ever a chance for Terry to have an explosive outing, it is now against Miami.

The second receiver spot is taken by George Pickens from the Georgia Bulldogs as he has slipped into the WR1 spot for the Bulldogs. Pickens had a solid year in 2019 putting up 727 yards and eight touchdowns considering he was not the lead receiver. Now that he is the lead wideout, he will have his opportunity against an Arkansas team that he put up 84 yards against last year.

The final receiver spot is filled out by Braden Smith of the Louisville Cardinals. Smith might not be the top option on this Cardinals team, but he certainly plays his role and has the capability to go off for big games as he has done this season already.

Smith has put up 146 yards through two games this season already. Going into their third game against the Pittsburgh Panthers, he has the potential to put up another big game being that Pitt will likely focus on the Cardinals bigger receivers in Tutu Atwell and Dez Fitzpatrick which would shine a light on Smith to be a candidate for big receptions.

FLEX

The FLEX spot is being filled out by Malik Davis from the Florida Gators as he is getting his chance as the RB1 for the Gators. This is a bit of a gamble draft pick here but could very well payout being that the Gators are ranked fifth in the nation and a big game in their first week could be in line for an offensive explosion.
