MIAMI – Following their comeback Week 2 win over the Baltimore Ravens as 3.5-point underdogs, oddsmakers have been quick to shift all of the Dolphins betting odds including their Super Bowl 57 odds, AFC odds, and several player and coaching odds.
Things got scorching hot in Miami after the Dolphins were trailing the Ravens 35-14 going into the fourth quarter. Throughout the last 15 minutes of the game, not only did their defense hold up allowing just three points, but Tua Tagovailoa shut down all of his haters by throwing four touchdowns including two 50+ yarders to Tyreek Hill and a game-winner to Jaylen Waddle with 14 seconds left on the clock.
After their impressive outing, the first of their odds to shift on legal online sportsbooks were their Super Bowl 57 odds. They opened at +4000 before the start of the season, shifted down to +2900 after Week 1, and now sit at +2200 after Week 2.
At +2200 it also marks their lowest mark following Week 2 in the history of the franchise.
Riding The Hawaiian Rollercoaster
Immediately after their Super Bowl odds took a dip, Tua saw his NFL MVP odds take a deep dive as well. Way back when the odds first opened, he saw +14000 opening odds. Those shifted to +5000 right before the season, +4000 after Week 1, and now +1800 going into Week 3. No, that is not a mistake, Tua backed that shift by throwing for 469 yards and six touchdowns in Week 2.
With that, he now leads the NFL through two weeks in both passing yards (739) and passing touchdowns (7). Not to mention, he also has the second highest QBR at 85.7.
Dolphins first-year head coach, Mike McDaniel, was also one who saw his odds shift as well. McDaniel went into the season at +1800 odds to win Coach of the Year and saw those odds drop to +950 after Week 1. Now, McDaniel is the favorite to win the COY award at +600 odds and is just one of six coaches now with odds under +1000 to win the award.
