DraftKings on Top of Massachusetts Sportsbook Revenue Report

• DraftKings had the highest handle of all Massachusetts sportsbooks in their 2023 March sportsbook revenue report with over $257 million wagered.
• Players had the most success betting on DraftKings, as the sportsbook held the lowest percentage of revenue at 6.26%
• The state recorded nearly $550 million in sports betting wagers in their first legal month.

BOSTON – DraftKings was the most bet sportsbook in Massachusetts for March of 2023. The prominent sportsbook received a handle over $76 million more than the next, FanDuel.

DraftKings received nearly 47% of legal Massachusetts sports betting wagers placed in their successful opening month. With their headquarters located in Boston, its logical that DraftKings was able to dominate the local sports betting market.

FanDuel is the only other Massachusetts sportsbook that received over $50 million in handle, reeling in over $181 million in legal sports betting.

According to the data from the Massachusetts sportsbook revenue report, bets placed on DraftKings and FanDuel made up 80% of the $548 million dollars in sports wagers from Bay Staters.

BetMGM and Barstool Sportsbook received a handle between $29 million and $45 million, while WynnBet and Caesars Sportsbook received under $20 million in handle.

Because of their 20% tax rate on online/mobile sports wagers, the state of Massachusetts collected over $9 million in taxes during their opening month.
