DraftKings Partners With Colorado Rockies, To Launch CO Sportsbook

• DraftKings has announced a partnership with the Colorado Rockies and the grand opening of its retail sportsbook in Colorado.
• The company has been named the official sports betting and daily fantasy operator of the team.
• The retail sportsbook opens on Friday will feature many amenities that provide a unique sports betting experience.

BLACK HAWK, Colo. – DraftKings announced on Thursday a partnership with the MLB’s Colorado Rockies along with the grand opening date of the DraftKings Sportsbook in a Colorado casino.

The company has been named the Official Daily Fantasy Operator and the first-ever Official Sports Betting Operator of the Rockies. DraftKings has also released the date of September 25, 2020, as the first day bets will be taken at their new sportsbook in the Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado.

“We are proud to grow our presence in Colorado both in announcing our latest deal with the Rockies and also look forward to soon officially opening the doors to our newest retail sportsbook at Mardi Gras Casino and Resort,” said Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and President, DraftKings North America. “In the short span since launching our top-rated mobile sportsbook app in Colorado this past May, Coloradans have proven to be among our most engaged customers, which makes our deepened connection to the state through these collaborations all the more exciting.”

With the Rockies deal, DraftKings will have in-stadium branding rights and license to utilize the franchise’s trademarks and logos. Both DraftKings and the Rockies will collaborate to create live videos, podcasts, a digital content series on the DraftKings’ original “The Sweat” program and more.

The legal sports betting company will also be opening its retail sportsbook on Friday at the Mardi Gras Casino. The sportsbook will feature several self-service betting kiosks, large video boards for displaying odds, a full-service sports bar and restaurant and more to provide sports bettors with a unique experience and optimal viewing.

DraftKings has offered Colorado bettors daily fantasy contests since 2012 and just recently launched its sportsbook app in the state in May of this year. This deal and the grand opening have expanded DraftKings’ reach in the Colorado sports betting market.
