TOPEKA, Kan. – DraftKings has announced a mobile sports betting deal with BHCMC LLC, a subsidiary of Butler National Corporation and manager of Boot Hill Casino & Resort, opening the door for the sportsbook to offer their services in Kansas once the industry is regulated.
Kansas has not yet passed any legislation to regulate sports betting in KS, though positive outcomes throughout the country and an increasingly positive public perception from constituents make future legislation very likely.
Kansas has introduced nearly 10 separate bills that would regulate the industry in different ways, though none of these gained enough traction to pass, Most died in committee.
Most recently, Kansas introduced SB 84 and HB 2444 in 2021. Both failed to pass, marking the second straight year of failed sports betting legislation.
Legislators and activists remain hopeful that a new bill could be introduced and passed in legislative sessions in the near future.
