BOSTON – DraftKings has finally pushed forth its long-awaited DraftKings Social network integration on its online site.
This turns all DraftKings’ sportsbook and daily fantasy sports (DFS) platforms into a closed social ecosystem with features like comments, posts, and discussion boards throughout.
This is a soft launch to test the overall stability of the social feature integration. This is yet another evolution of the legal sports betting market.

The social features on the DraftKings app have been of long interest to the sports betting giant. The functionality was expressed greatly during the first-quarter earnings report.
“DraftKings is off to an outstanding start in 2021,” said Jason Robins, DraftKings’ co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. “We continued to make progress and remain on track with the migration to our own in-house proprietary sports betting engine, strengthened our content and technology capabilities with the acquisitions of VSiN and BlueRibbon Software, and invested in further differentiating our product offering with the upcoming rollout of social functionality in our DFS and mobile Sportsbook apps.”
This soft launch is a part of the overall rollout of the social product planned for 2021. This first phase will test the features and gauge their interest.
DraftKings has over 1.5 million monthly unique users across its sportsbook, casino, and DFS products, creating an already strong base that should embrace the DraftKings Social network.
Features including chat options for public discussions and personal private messages across users. Players can connect their social media accounts like Facebook to DraftKings Social and are able to use the Refer-a-Friend program seamlessly.
The soft launch is available on the DraftKings sportsbook and the DraftKings DFS side of things but currently not yet available on DraftKings Casino. Additionally, the speculated DraftKings Poker that the team has been working on is expected to use these features as well.
DraftKings social would become the first social media sportsbook on the market. This could be a major game-changer in states with legal sports betting.
