DraftKings Sportsbook Coming Soon To Del Lago Resort & Casino

WATERLOO, N.Y. – Sports fans in New York’s Finger Lakes region will have a new favorite place to watch football this upcoming fall.

Construction for the new DraftKings Sportsbooks at del Lago Resort & Casino began in May of this year. With the New York State Gaming Commission officially approving sports betting regulations early last week, everything seems to be on track for sports fans to begin cashing in on their favorite teams in the coming months.

“We are excited to soon be offering sports gaming for our customers with our DraftKings partners,” said Steven Greenberg, a del Lago Resort & Casino spokesperson.

“Del Lago Resort & Casino has started building a state-of-the-art sports gaming venue off the casino floor. We look forward to some exciting summer baseball and the 2019 NFL season, as well as other sporting events on which our customers have been eager to place a wager.”

LegalSportsBetting got to catch up with del Lago casino officials to get a more accurate timeline for the newly renovated space.

“Construction for DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago is officially underway as expect the new sportsbook to be open at the end of July/beginning of August,” said Mark Juliano, general manager of del Lago Resort & Casino.

However, even though the NYGC announced regulations for future sports betting facilities to follow, del Lago will still have to be approved by the Commission for an official sports gambling license in the coming weeks.

“We are currently working on a specific timetable with regards to applying for and obtaining a license to operate. We have been working closely with the state, keeping them aware of what we’re doing which we feel will help the licensing process proceed smoothly,” said Juliano.

The new regulations set by the NYSGC will have to be published by the State Register. That process is expected to be finalized by the end of this month.

The Waterloo-based casino is doing a lot to bring NY sports bettors the best possible sports wagering experience possible. DraftKings, which powers several casino sportsbooks across the country is set to bring their expertise and experience to del Lago.

The lounge itself will be located on the casino floor near the entrance to the Vine Showroom where the Vine Restaurant and Bar used to be. The DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago will still have plenty of fan-favorite foods, craft cocktails, and an assortment of domestic and imported beer for customers to choose from.

When it comes to placing wagers there will be 20 self-service kiosks as well as DraftKings cashier stations in case you need help. The types of bets you can make should include all the industry standard lines such as moneylines, spread bets, and totals bets.

Live betting will also be a great focus of the sportsbook’s operations. To go along with LED terminals and floor-to-ceiling video display walls broadcasting all the latest games, the DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago will also feature cutting-edge odds boards that will update in real-time for in-game wagers.

Legal Sports Betting also inquired in regards to the possibility for del Lago to offer mobile sports betting. There are two active bills in the state legislature that would permit them to do so, however, del Lago is concentrated on their retail sports betting efforts.

“We are not going to comment on mobile or online sports betting at this time as we are currently putting our focus on opening DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago and ensuring our sportsbook is truly a state-of-the-art experience for our guests,” said Juliano.

What Else Is Offered At Del Lago Resort & Casino?

There will be plenty of reason for sports bettors to want to stay at the resort even after they get to place their wagers. The casino features 1,956 slot machines, 99 table games, and 14 poker tables for anyone interesting in gambling during or after the sports matches conclude.

The $440 million-dollar property also includes a 4,200-square-foot food court, a 2,400-person entertainment center, 205-room hotel, and a 14,000-square-foot European-style spa.

There is also Farmers Market Buffet which features locally sourced comfort foods and the Sociale Café & Bar which serves “gastro spa” cuisine and beverages, Lavazza Italian coffee, and homemade pastries.
