INDIANAPOLIS – The Elite Eight is well underway and examining the betting splits can be a good way to show sports betting fans where the money is being placed.

With the USC Trojans vs. the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Michigan Wolverines vs. the UCLA Bruins tipping off on Tuesday, a bulk of the action is being wagered on these matchups.

UCLA Bruins Vs. Michigan Wolverines

• Spread: Michigan -7.0
• Totals: Over/Under 136.0

Looking at the odds, players can see that March Madness betting fans are leaning heavily in favor of the Michigan Wolverines to win their matchup against the UCLA Bruins. The splits confirm this.

Looking at the data from DraftKings sportsbook, 63% of all wagers on this matchup are being placed on Michigan. Michigan has also received 58% of the total betting handle, showing that even more money is being bet on the Wolverines.

UCLA has been a Cinderella Story so far in the tournament, pulling the upset against the BYU Cougars in the first round of the tournament, and then upsetting the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sweet Sixteen.

“For me, we’ve got to win three more games,” said Mick Cronin, UCLA Head Coach. “I’m happy we’re alive. You do this to try to have a chance, and you never know when this chance is going to come along again, as a coach, as a coaching staff. You just never know.”

Despite these big accomplishments, sports betting fans clearly expect the Wolverines to win, with 60% of the wagers leaning on Michigan to cover the -7.5 spread.

Gonzaga has had an impressive season so far, on pace to becoming only the eighth team in NCAA history to win the national championship by going undefeated, and the first team to do so since 1976.

25% of the total wagers is still more than any other team getting action, but the large percentage gap between the bets and the betting handle shows that big bets are being placed on Gonzaga.
