Fanatics Sportsbook Launches in Virginia, More States Coming

• Fanatics Sportsbook went live in Virginia making it the seventh state with Fanatics Sportsbook.

RICHMOND, Va. – Fanatics Sportsbooks launched in Virginia on Tuesday, marking their seventh state with live sports betting. Fanatics Betting and Gaming made the announcement that the Fanatics Sportsbook app was available for download Tuesday afternoon.

The legal sports betting site continues their sports betting expansion with the Virginia launch. Virginia becomes the seventh state on the list of live Fanatics Sportsbook states.

The list will continue growing as Fanatics gains access to more PointsBet sports betting states. PointsBet agreed to hand over their sports betting licensing when Fanatics officially acquired PointsBet US back in late June.

Fanatics will eventually launch in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, and New York, but PointsBet US will continue operating in those states until Fanatics gets approved independently. The deal requires states to be handed over in three-state increments, so Fanatics Sportsbook will slowly get full access of PointsBet US assets by May 2024.

What Makes Fanatics Sportsbook Competitive?

Fanatics has some unique features that give them an edge over other legal online sportsbooks like FanDuel or DraftKings. Fanatics players earn FanCash for their wagers, which can be used for purchasing team merchandise.

Conversely, and FanCash earned from buying team merchandise can be converted into Bonus Bets on the Fanatics Sportsbook. The unique rewards system compared to other Virginia sports betting sites could help Fanatics stay afloat in a market dominated by DraftKings and FanDuel.

Fanatics also has a partnership with Genius Sports Limited that offers a live sports betting product. BetVision enables customers to make their bets while streaming NFL games in the Fanatics Sportsbook app.
