AFC Playoff Odds

Two teams to look at here are the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams reside in the AFC West and share the division with the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won the last five division championships and are in shape to win the next five as well, especially with their -275 odds to win this season.

With that, it is safe to say that neither the Broncos nor Chargers are going to win the division, however, they can still make the playoffs if they were to clinch a Wild Card spot which is where their longer odds come in handy.

While money can still be made here betting on either of these teams to make the playoffs, their NFL odds to clinch a Wild Card spot are even better. The Broncos are looking at +225 odds while the Chargers are sitting at +220. Being that the Chiefs have control over the division as previously mentioned, these are the real money-making opportunities.

In money terms, betting $100 on the Chargers to make the playoffs would profit $95 while betting $100 on them to clinch the Wild Card would net $220. $100 on the Broncos to make the playoffs would bring in $110 while their odds on the Wild Card round would see a $225 payout.

NFC Playoff Odds

In the NFC, the teams where more profit can be made are the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings. The Saints share the NFC South with the defending Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Vikings have the reigning MVP, Aaron Rodgers, and the Green Bay Packers shadowing over them.

In both cases, it is hard seeing the Saints beat out Tom Brady and the Buccaneers for the division just like it is hard seeing the Vikings try and bring down the MVP of the league.

In this scenario, a $100 bet on the Vikings to make the playoffs would only profit roughly $87 compared to the $300 profit that could be made betting on their +300 odds. The Saints odds would only net $100 in comparison to the $290 that could be made on their +290 odds.
