First Barstool Sportsbook Opens At Ameristar In Black Hawk

• Barstool Sports can now add “book” to the end of their name as the company has transitioned into a full-fledged sportsbook with the launch of their first retail location in Colorado.
• This launch is the first of many that are expected to be seen by Barstool nationwide come 2021.

BLACK HAWK, Colo. – Friday marks the official launch of the first Barstool Sportsbook in existence at the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk in Colorado.

This is a historical moment for Barstool as they have now become a full-on sportsbook which was the company’s goal since partnering with Penn National Gaming (PNG) at the beginning of the year.

Prior to the partnership, Barstool Sports, Inc was solely an online outlet for sports news.

“This opportunity is a dream of mine and why I started Barstool Sports in the first place. Barstool Sports has a deep sports and gaming history and from the moment we met Jay and the Penn National team we knew this could be an exciting and game-changing partnership and we can’t wait to get started. I think with our shared vision and goals, we are uniquely positioned to be a leader in this business,” said Dave Portnoy, Founder of Barstool Sports back in January.

That dream has now come to light as the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk will open the doors of Barstool Sportsbook at 4:00 pm M.T., Friday.

What Will Be Seen At Barstool Sportsbook

The Ameristar’s new Colorado sports betting venue offers a top-notch experience for their patrons.

Thousands of wagers will be available for sports bettors to participate in. Along with self-service sports wagering kiosks, they also have ticket windows for customers that prefer to place their bets with an agent rather than on their own at a kiosk. The location of the sportsbook within the casino is on the second floor.

“We are very excited to be opening the first Barstool Sportsbook in the country at Ameristar Black Hawk,” said Jay Snowden, President and CEO of Penn National Gaming. “This will be the first of many new retail locations for Barstool Sportsbooks at our casinos nationwide. Each will incorporate several features that reflect the spirit of the Barstool Sports brand, resulting in unique sports betting experiences that we expect our customers will thoroughly enjoy.”

Multiple televisions with both sports matchups and various statistical data and betting lines can be seen throughout the space. Wagers will be accepted on sporting events happening worldwide and while they might not be the most obscure events available, they will definitely be the most popular ones open for action.

Along with numerous TVs, there is also a 24 ft by 12 ft video wall that will broadcast the biggest games of the day for the added enjoyment of visitors.

Let The Betting Begin!

Patrons of the Ameristar Casino can now check out the luxurious full-service sportsbook during their next visit. A mobile sports betting app for Barstool is not slated to launch until 2021 so Coloradoans in Black Hawk will need to go to the land-based location to place bets until there is a mobile platform available.

But both the venue and sports bettors in the area are thrilled about the launch of the Barstool Sportsbook.
