- Floyd Mayweather opens as -2000 odds-on favorite to to win the exhibition bout against Logan Paul.
- Logan Paul returns +900 odds to pull off the massive upset.
- Mayweather last fought in December 2018 against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
MIAMI – Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0) will fight YouTube star, Logan Paul (0-1) on June 5 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The exhibition bout has an unconfirmed number of rounds, but Mayweather still opened up as a -2000 favorite over Paul.
Mayweather is arguably the greatest boxer of all time and holds an undefeated record of 50 wins and no losses. Paul lost his only professional fight via split decision to another YouTube star, KSI, but objectively was the more technical boxer. Paul was deducted points which led to the split decision.
Should Floyd Be an Even Bigger Favorite?
Mayweather is now 44-years-old and hasn’t fought in about two and a half years, but many would argue that the former champ should have even shorter odds in this fight. For comparison, in Mayweather’s fight against Conor McGregor, he opened as a -2250 favorite on online sportsbooks.
To be clear, Mayweather’s betting odds dropped to -600 after the fight became official, but when the details of the fight were under speculation, Mayweather was actually a bigger favorite against McGregor than he currently is against Paul.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul Betting Odds
- Mayweather -2000
- Paul +900
For better or for worse, Logan and his brother, Jake Paul, have become names in the boxing community. Jake has knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson as well as former UFC fighter Ben Askren. But neither of the brothers have fought anyone with nearly the boxing acumen of Mayweather.
Does Paul Have a “Puncher’s Chance” To Win?
In short, the chances are nearly zero. Sports betting sites know that Mayweather is the greatest defensive boxer of all time. The man simply can’t get hit.
Even at age 44, Mayweather would probably be among the best boxers still active today. Sure, he’s likely lost some speed and some power, but his boxing IQ remains as one of the best. Paul was unable to put away KSI, someone who had never fought before, so the odds of knocking out Mayweather are astronomically low.
How to Watch Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul
As mentioned, the details around this fight are still yet to come, but it’s been reported that the fight will take place on June 5 in Miami in hard rock stadium. It will more than likely be a PPV event.
