PHILADELPHIA – The Golden Nugget and Scientific Games Corporation (SGC) have decided to expand their existing partnership to include multiple states.
Not only will the new deal include both New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as open the door fully for other states in the future, but it will also provide a variety of products and channels from the iGaming company for the casino operator to access for customers.
This add-on to a previous partnership will be active through 2024. After that, a renewal of contracts is open-ended.
Partnership Expansion Details
SGC has been offering its iGaming solutions to Golden Nugget locations for quite some time. However, this new deal will allow Golden Nugget to begin utilizing the Open Gaming System, an SGC product. This platform incorporates everything needed for players to wager through the internet and mobile devices smoothly.
The best part is their sports betting application, OpenSports. OpenSports is an all-encompassing mobile sports betting platform that will roll out in New Jersey first.
Other states will be able to use OpenSports as legal gambling on sporting events becomes more prominent nationwide. Land-based establishments in Nevada, Mississippi, and New Jersey will have access to use this sports betting product as well.
“Following Golden Nugget’s transition to our solutions, we look forward to launching Sports on top of our long-standing player account and iGaming relationship. Golden Nugget has a wide player base across the U.S., having pioneered the iGaming space in New Jersey from its earliest days, and we’re excited to power their sports betting and iGaming presence, providing a seamless and reliable end-to-end betting experience,” said Jordan Levin, Group Chief Executive, Digital for Scientific Games.
Both companies are equally excited by the broadening of their partnership as it means more business from each end of the spectrum. They also are confident with the transition due to the long relationship they’ve shared with one another in their business ventures.
“We have a long history with Scientific Games, and their technology is a cornerstone of our sports betting and iGaming strategy. We’re thrilled to continue working with them to bring a consistent and best-in-class experience to our players across multiple products, nationwide,” said Thomas Winter, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Online Gaming for Golden Nugget.
This is just the latest partnership of its kind for the legal sports betting market in the United States. More and more similar deals are being talked about on a daily basis. Gambling on sports matchups is a lucrative market and pairings such as this one has proved to be beneficial for all those involved.
