INDIANAPOLIS – The global payment technology partner, Nuvei, announced that it has received a certificate of registration for sports wagering in Indiana on Wednesday.
Indiana Gaming Commission approved the certificate to authorize the company to offer payment services supporting sports betting transactions within the state.
Nuvei’s goal is to empower the sports betting and iGaming companies to accept payments for residents of Indiana while using their innovative technology.
“Nuvei’s approval to transact in the State of Indiana is just the beginning of our efforts to expand into US markets,” said Philip Fayer, Chairman and CEO. “We are excited to be able to bring our innovative, revenue-enhancing payment technology stack to Indiana, with an eye toward further expansion in states that have legalized online sports betting.”
Since the repeal of the PASPA in May 2018 which voided the ban on sports betting in the country, Nuvei has worked to have the opportunity to secure the sports betting payment process in the US.
Indiana opened it’s first legal sports betting operations in the fall of 2019 which allowed for those in Indiana, over 21, to place wagers on multiple professional and amateur sporting events. Online and mobile sports betting platforms were also legalized.
The internationally based company’s award-winning cashier solution now gives gaming operators a chance to optimize their payment flow.
Nuvei also allows businesses to have faster deposit and withdrawal processes which improve player experience and create greater revenue opportunities.
Currently, Nuvei services many leading iGaming brands around the world and is hoping to help multiple states that have or will have online sports gambling in the near future.
