INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana residents bet more than $513 million in November, setting a record for sports betting handle in a month. The Indiana Gaming Commission reported a $513.67 million handle for the month, Indiana’s highest monthly handle since January of 2022.
That was the only other time Indiana cracked the half a billion mark for legal sports betting handle. The newly launched ESPN BET played a big role in the record-setting month, reporting a $27.45 million handle in November.
ESPN BET had the fourth-highest online sports betting handle for November, only trailing DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM. November’s handle set a high for Penn Entertainment in Indiana, with ESPN BET surpassing all monthly handles of the former Barstool Sportsbook.
DraftKings Sets Record For Third Consecutive Month
DraftKings set another Indiana sports betting record in November with their $188 million handle. November’s data marks DraftKings’ third consecutive month with a new state high for handle.
FanDuel had their best month in Indiana with a sports betting handle of $175.56 million, but their November revenue was nearly half what they earned in October. FanDuel’s 5.4% hold in November translated to $9.5 million in revenue, while DraftKings earned $10.1 million off a similar hold thanks to their record handle.
Although legal NFL betting sites have been the most used in Indiana this year, they only made up $136.88 million in November. Basketball betting held the top spot with a $145.72 million handle.
The Indiana Gaming Commission reported parlays had the highest handle in November at $169.78 million. Parlay betting made up 31.5% of the year-to-date handle in Indiana.
