- Isleta Resort & Casino is the closest sportsbook to downtown Albuquerque.
- The sportsbook, located on the gaming floor, will be open seven days a week from 8 am to 1 am.
- Betting on professional collegiate teams (including the local ones) is permitted at Isleta’s sportsbook.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Isleta Resort & Casino is known for their recent expansions from their poker and bingo rooms and entertainment areas to their grand foyer entrance. But New Mexico gamblers are more excited than ever about the newest addition: legal sports betting.
The casino opened their doors to sports betting on Monday, when the first bet was placed at the venue’s temporary location. This makes Isleta the fourth sportsbook to launch in the state of New Mexico.
The book is located on the casino floor but the permanent location, which is under construction and expected to open sometime later this year, will be near the casino’s other recent addition (the Food Court).
When the permanent location opens, bettors will be able to place wagers and watch the games of their choice while enjoying food and drinks just as any Las Vegas-style sportsbook would offer.
“We look forward to unveiling all of the exciting possibilities to our patrons,” said Harold Baugus, CEO of Isleta Resort & Casino.
Until then, bettors can find the sportsbook, operated by USBookmaking, offering wagers on pretty much everything a bettor would be on the lookout for, from the professional leagues to the collegiate teams.
“We offer outstanding service for our clients and our selection by Isleta validates the tremendous value that USBookmaking contributes,” said Vic Salerno, President of USBookmaking.
As some states have banned the ability for books to offer lines on the local (in-state) universities, New Mexico does not have this stipulation. Therefore, betting on the University of New Mexico or New Mexico State University are permitted at Isleta.
The sportsbook is open seven days a week from 8 am to 1 am every day and Baugus is confident that Isleta will be the “very best betting experience in New Mexico”.
