JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There are player props on any player you can think of the Wild Card game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars. One player in particular that has player prop odds is Jaguars backup running back, JaMycal Hasty.

Hasty is listed as the primary backup to an elite running back in Travis Etienne so he hasn’t gotten a ton of work out of the backfield this season. Over the Jaguars last six games, they’ve seen efficient running from him having gone over a 10.5-yard total in four of those games.

Also in those six games, he’s gotten some work in the receiving room as well with three games going over 10.5 yards.

Despite Hasty having efficient numbers over his recent games, if Etienne were to go off as he has been, it could erase Hasty’s usage entirely. Also, Trevor Lawrence deserves some respect on the ground game as well with 20+ rushing yards in three of his last six games.

Something to take note of though that might hurt Hasty’s chance of getting quality work is that the Chargers run defense is letting up the fifth most yards in the league at 145.8. While some might look at this and think he’ll get his chance, it just opens the door wide open for Etienne who is durable enough for 20+ carries and owning the run game forcing Hasty to stay under his 10.5 total.

Etienne also gets much more receiving work out of the backfield as well with 10+ receiving yards in five of his last six games.

In reality, while his NFL player props on Bovada might look appealing, they are hard to trust given that he only has three total touchdowns all year. That includes two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown.

Etienne also takes the majority of the rushing work in the red zone with 32 attempts and a 45.71% usage rate while Hasty gets the bare minimum with under 10 attempts all year.
