Josh Allen’s Biggest Player Prop Threat Is A Blowout

BUFFALO – Josh Allen’s player prop totals for Week 8 seem a bit low considering his recent level of play. Is it possible that a possible blowout is the biggest thing standing in the way of Allen and his prop totals?

Josh Allen Passing Yards: O/U 283.5

Josh Allen is averaging 287 passing yards per game this season and has hit his current passing total set by legal online sportsbooks in three of his six games this year.

However, his previous game against the Miami Dolphins is one of the games in which he fell short.

Allen threw for just 179 yards in the first meeting against Miami, largely due to the game being a 35-0 blowout that didn’t require Allen to do too much. Further, the only other game over the past five weeks that Allen hasn’t this 300+ yards was the 40-0 win against the Houston Texans.

Allen should easily hit this number as long as the Dolphins are able to keep the game at least relatively close for a while. The Buffalo Bills are 14-point favorites in the matchup but as long as the game doesn’t reach a 28+-point margin, Allen should be good to clear this mark.

Josh Allen Rushing Yards Total: O/U 29.5

Allen has run for 30+ yards in four of his six games this season. His season average is 35.7 rushing yards per game, yet legal NFL sports betting sites have his total set at just 29.5.

Allen ran for 35 yards against the Dolphins in the first meeting and is still the only quarterback to hit 30 rushing yards against them. However, Miami hasn’t faced many mobile quarterbacks this season.

Aside from Allen, Miami has faced Mac Jones, Derek Carr, Carson Wentz, Tom Brady, Trevor Lawrence and Matt Ryan.

Allen is averaging 4.9 yards per carry this season which means he would only need about six carries to hit this total if his average holds true. He’s had at least six rushing attempts in each of the past three weeks.

Josh Allen Passing Touchdowns: O/U 2.5

With a season average of 2.5 passing touchdowns per game, Allen’s odds to throw for three or more touchdowns should be closer to (EVEN) than what they are.

Allen has thrown for three or more touchdowns in three of the last four weeks, including in both of his last two outings. The Dolphins allow the fifth-most passing touchdowns per game at 2.1, which should give Allen a high floor in the touchdown department on Sunday.
