PHOENIX – After the first 2 weeks of the season, looking at NFL futures odds for team win totals tells an interesting story. Odds for teams like the Arizona Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Kansas City Chiefs have NFL gambling fans taking the under, but these teams could easily hit the over.

Cardinals Are Underestimated

Arizona is 2-0 on the season and QB Kyler Murray has been putting on a career performance. In two weeks, Murray has thrown for 689 yards (3rd in the league), 7 TDs (2nd in the league), and boasts a QBR of 71.0 (4th in the league).

Because of this, the Over 10.5 which opened at (+108), has shifted slightly to (-105). The Under is still favored, however, as sportsbooks aren’t quick to view the Cardinals as a high win team. The line has already started to shift so if the Cardinals continue to win, the Over may end up being favored and less profitable for betting.

At legal sportsbooks, the Cardinals are 8-point favorites in Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and should easily manage to claim a victory and go 3-0. But, the following weeks will see them face top defenses in the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4 and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.

Packers Have Best Odds

The Green Bay Packers had a horrible start to the season, losing to the New Orleans Saints 3-38 and QB Aaron Rodgers looked mentally checked out.

Despite the Week 2 bounce-back 35-17 win against the Detroit Lions, where Rodgers threw for 4 TDs on an 81.5% completion rate, sportsbooks still have the Packers Under as heavy favorites.

Green Bay won 13 games last season and finished first in the NFC North. The Packers are also coming off of back-to-back NFC Championship Games and Rodgers is the reigning league MVP.

However, there are some team issues that could be affecting the odds, as Rodgers has stated this will be his last season on the Packers after a full offseason of team drama. Sportsbooks may be reflecting the idea that he would not be trying this season.

Still, the Packers at (+120) to win over 10.5 games. Green Bay’s Week 3 matchup against the 49ers will be a test and could be an odds changer depending on the result.

Chiefs And Bucs Odds Are Telling

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a 35-36 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. They also needed a fourth-quarter comeback run to beat the Cleveland Browns 33-29 in Week 1.

Heading into the season, the Chiefs were viewed as the team to beat, having the shortest odds to win the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been dominant. They completed a tough Week 1 Thursday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and beat the Atlanta Falcons 48-25 scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Understandably, sportsbooks show bettors are more confident in the Bucs hitting the over, thus the EVEN odds, than the Chiefs hitting the Over (+110).

Still, the Chiefs won 14 games last season and with a 17th game on the schedule, the Chiefs have an extra chance to win at least 13 games.
