Floyd Mayweather

  • Floyd Mayweather tells sports betting fans to bet on him with the prop bets for his bout against Logan Paul.
  • Floyd has -700 short odds to not be knocked down.
  • Paul has -400 short odds to be knocked down.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul bout is set and sports betting fans are placing heavy action on this exhibition match.

Money Mayweather himself has sat down with BetOnline, telling sports betting fans to place all their money on him while seeming exceedingly confident he will win this matchup.

Despite Mayweather being heavily favored, however, most of the action is being placed on Paul to pull the upset. This could be caused by sports betting fans leaning in on the potential bigger payout should Floyd lose.

Mayweather Vs. Paul

Floyd Mayweather is an undefeated five-division champion with a record of 50-0. Logan Paul is a recent boxer with just one celebrity and exhibition matchup under his belt. A matchup in which he lost to KSI.

It is no surprise that oddsmakers have all the short odds on Floyd being successful. Whether it be prop bets surrounding who will be knocked down or who the first to bleed would be, betting lines are heavily skewed in one direction.

  • Paul, Logan not to be knocked down +250

The short odds-on Floyd do not lead to major payouts compared to taking the Paul brother to pull the upset. Still, Mayweather himself is urging betting fans to place action on him.

Betting fans continue to place action on Logan Paul, however, as over half of all bets are on the YouTube star to win.

“The odds are too good to pass up Paul, at least that’s what the betting data says,” said Kyle Newman, an OddsChecker spokesman. “Despite Paul seemingly having no chance to defeat one of the greatest boxers of all time, bettors continue to back him. Why? The answer seems to be simple, Mayweather isn’t worth betting on at -1600.”

The odds for Mayweather to win have gotten even shorter as the match is closer to taking place. On BetOnline, Mayweather currently has -800 odds to win. His odds opened at -2000 during the announcement of the fight. The official rules could have affected these as the only way for Mayweather to win would be to knockout Paul. The height and weight difference could also be a reason bettors are leaning on Paul as he will have 30 pounds over Mayweather.

This matchup will be a big draw for boxing betting fans. Floyd has consistently taken in a lot of action with his matchups. Mayweather believes the same will happen with this exhibition fight as well.

“It’s good for the sport of boxing, but when we’re talkin super fights, there’s only one fighter who takes a professional match or an exhibition to that level,” said Mayweather. “For over 20 years it’s been about will Floyd Mayweather ever lose. The answer is no.”

Legal sports betting are already seeing plenty of action for the matchup. The matchup kicks off on Sunday, June 6 at 8 PM EDT. Betting fans can watch the fight on US PPV.
