McCaffrey Trade Confusing Sportsbooks for Week 7 Props

Following the Christian McCaffrey trade, legal betting sites have removed their over/under 49ers props for Sunday, while other sites have added odds for CMC scoring in the game at +110 odds.
The 49ers opened the week as 3-point underdogs but the line has slightly moved at legal sportsbooks with them currently being 1.5-point underdogs in San Francisco for week 7.

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Kanas City Chiefs and the Chiefs are 1.5-point favorites to win the game with -130 odds at Bovada. These odds could change before 4:25 p.m. ET, with the believe that Christian McCaffrey will play large minutes for the 49ers.

While most sportsbooks have failed to post over/under bets for CMC’S rushing and receiving totals, some sportsbooks have quickly thrown the running back into their touchdown-scoring props for week seven.

Rumors suggest that CMC plays about 20 snaps on Sunday. He still has the fourth shortest odds to find the endzone and to score first. These props show that NFL betting sites are speculating that the 49ers could throw him in for simple plays in the redzone before he becomes fully acclimated to the playbook in San Francisco.

He even has +650 odds to score two or more TDs for the Niner during his San Francisco debut.

However, the trade has confused legal sports betting sites, with a lot of them temporarily removing their odds and props for Jeff Wilson Jr. for the matchup.

CMC Causing Line Movement for NFL Odds

McCaffery has already recorded 670 total yards and three TDs during the 2022 season and has caused a slight line movement for Sunday’s matchup for both the Niners and the Panthers.

The Chiefs originally opened up the week as a three-point favorite for the road game without CMC and that line was cut in half after the news broke. Over in Carolina, the Tampa Bay Bucaneers’ line grew to -13 at Bovada after the trade, as the Panthers lost their best offensive tool.

Before the trade, the Bucs were 10.5-point favorites on the road.
