Nevada Sportsbooks See Most Sports Betting Action On Record

• Nevada sportsbooks handled more in September 2021 than any other month.
• Although September had the biggest handle yet, it was only the third highest grossing revenue month.

LAS VEGAS – Nevada sportsbooks continue to pull impressive betting numbers, breaking their own monthly handle record yet again. September of 2021 now boasts Nevada’s biggest sports betting handle to-date.

Biggest Nevada Handle Yet

A Nevada Gaming Control Board report released on Wednesday suggests that more Nevada sports betting fans are active than ever before, after they collectively wagered over $786.5 million in the month of September.

Online sports bets accounted for 63% of all action.

This marks a 36.7% increase from the September, 2020 sports betting handle.

• September 2021 Nevada sports betting handle: $786,508,562

Additionally, the new record is a 19.1% increase from the previous overall best sports betting handle of $659.8 million from October last year.

The Best Revenue Month?

Although this is a new record in Nevada’s sports betting handle, it was not the largest month in Nevada sports betting revenue. In fact, it’s not even the most profitable September on record.

Nevada sportsbooks took in $54.2 million in total revenue in September, making it only the third highest-grossing month so far, the first being November 2020.

• September 2021 Nevada sports betting revenue: $54,205,000

While Nevada’s legal sports betting market is only the second biggest in the country behind New Jersey, its market has continued to grow, with other states well behind the leaders.
