PHILADELPHIA – In the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the New York Islanders and the Philadelphia Flyers have taken their series all the way down to the buzzer, having to play all seven games as they’re tied at 3-3.

The seventh and final game of the series will take place with the Flyers skating out onto the ice as the home team on Saturday.

The Islanders had a chance to win the series in their last outing on Thursday, but after double overtime, the Flyers were able to pull out the victory with a final score of 5-4, an upset that would leave plenty of NHL bettors stunned, especially those rooting for New York.

Of the six games played, three have gone into overtime, with Game 6 needing a double overtime. This is a clear street brawl for which team wants it more.

Game 1 went to the Islanders where they were able to shut out the Flyers 4-0. Game 2 saw the first overtime of the series and it was the Philadelphia Flyers that would go on to win it 4-3, tying the series at 1-1.

Game 3 had the Islanders win 3-1. They were able to pull off back to back wins with Game 4 by a score of 3-2. Game 5 brought the second overtime of the series where Philadelphia would win it 4-3.

Game 6 saw the first double overtime of the series and a Philadelphia Flyers win of 5-4. Now the two teams head into their final game, Game 7.

Interestingly enough there is one takeaway from this series that is evident. Each time the game goes into overtime, Philadelphia is the one that ultimately wins.

Game 6 was set to go to New York as they were up 4-3 with only 30 seconds left to play. That all changed rather quickly when Philadelphia center Scott Laughton tied it up for the Flyers and forced an overtime that would later give them the win the team needed to keep their Stanley Cup hopes alive.

The New York Islanders will be entering the game as the favorite by sportsbooks.
