TAMPA—Going for a perfect regular-season record in the NFL is something that might seem impossible to do but there have been a few teams that have been able to achieve such greatness in the game.

A total of four teams in the history of the NFL have gone undefeated in the regular season. Those teams are the 1934 and 1942 Chicago Bears, the 1972 Miami Dolphins, and the 2007 New England Patriots. And it’s that time of year when the yearly prop bet of a team going undefeated in the regular season has already hit regulated sports betting sites and with great odds to boot for interested gamblers.

One bet made was at a $10k stake to win $500k and the other was a $28.2k bet to cash out $846k. Caesars took the $38.2k wagers on the Bucs last week to go 17-0 which would result in a $1.3 million payout.

The fact that these wagers are placed on QB Tom Brady and the Bucs to go 17-0 makes it even better being that Brady was the last quarterback to lead his team to a perfect regular season 14 years ago.

The veteran QB has a real shot at achieving an undefeated season being that last season, during his first year in Tampa, he was just getting used to the playbook and won the team a Super Bowl. Now that he has one season under his belt and the playbook learned, there is no team on their schedule that could seriously take them out with his skillset.

Diving deeper into the Buccaneers’ schedule though, it does seem realistic being that 11 of their 17 games on the schedule are coming against teams who finished with a sub .500 record. The only games that they would have to worry about are the Los Angeles Rams who they’ll see in Week 3 and the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. If they are able to muscle out those teams, the NFL odds for a perfect season could turn out to be very profitable for gamblers placing their bets now.
